A spring gale of sandy-yellow hues has swept through the season of summer’s crimson-glowing blossoms and is now subsiding into the azure of the sky, reflected on the water’s surface. We find ourselves in the season of autumn, with its cool, stormy yet tender embrace, but also in a time of preparation for the descent into the Underworld.
The colour that links the following chapters is blue, which we shall once again explore from the perspective of the magical correspondences found in Western esoteric systems, Haitian Vodou and dream magic. It will also manifest in the blooming flowers and our growing collection of minerals for energetic, ritual, and magical work.
With autumn comes depth, and so we, too, shall deepen our connection with ourselves, with the divine, and with the Earth through texts from the realms of the women`s mysteries, Kabbalistic mysticism, and Norse alchemy. The Earth and wetlands are then beautifully linked by the archetype and symbolism of the toad in Slavic tradition and peat as one of the incense materials used by the ancient Celts.
These texts, supplemented by traditional recipes and comics, will prepare us to look within ourselves and at the world around us through this time of mirrors – a time that is undoubtedly the autumnal transition between harvest and death, between the fury of a storm and the stillness of stagnant waters, between cosy silence and the bubbling of a river flowing beyond this world.
We hope you enjoy reading it!
